Setup

  1. Sit or stand tall with dumbbells at shoulder height.
  2. Brace your trunk and keep ribs controlled.
  3. Use a neutral or slightly forward hand position if more comfortable.

How To Perform It

  1. Press the dumbbells overhead along a comfortable path.
  2. Finish with arms long without forcing lockout.
  3. Lower slowly to shoulder height.

“Keep the ribs down - press overhead without turning it into a backbend.”

Common Mistakes

  • Excessive lower-back arch.
  • Shrugging early.
  • Dropping too deep into an uncomfortable shoulder position.
