Setup

  1. Adjust the seat so the handles or pads line up with mid-chest.
  2. Keep your back against the pad and shoulders set.
  3. Begin with a comfortable chest stretch - not an extreme one.

How To Perform It

  1. Bring the arms together in a smooth arc.
  2. Squeeze the chest briefly.
  3. Return slowly until you reach the same controlled start position.

Key ASF Cue

“Move through the shoulder - keep the torso still and the chest doing the work.”

Common Mistakes

  • Overstretching at the back.
  • Shrugging the shoulders.
  • Using momentum to close the machine.

Alternatives / Substitutions

Safety Note

Avoid forcing an end range that causes front-of-shoulder discomfort.
